Moving Hotels & Relaxing in Old Quater, Hanoi

Warming up to Daddy!
Dinner at an Authentic Vietnamese Restaurant

Ice Cream at Fannies-Deelish!

We decided to move hotels. It was a bittersweet decision as the Somerset Hoa Binh wonderful. The staff could not have been kinder and we had developed such relationships that we actually made a round of goodbyes before we left. I have never felt guilty about checking out of a hotel until now. However, the location and convenience of the Somerset Grand won us over. It is nice to be in the same location as the other families and walk right out the front door into the Old Quarter. We have a great travel group and it is so much fun to run into one another during the day.

We spent our day relaxing at the hotel, walking the streets and continuing to get to know one another. We had dinner at a fantastic place that was very authentic. It was a culinary experience and one we will never forget. At one point in the dinner the staff was holding all of our babies and reluctant to return them to us! This country is packed full of interesting nooks and crannies. I will say that at times the amount of people and new sights and smells can be overwhelming. It is a culture very foreign to us, but we are embracing every moment to take in as much as we can so we can share this with Kate.

As we returned to our hotel a woman holding her baby stopped to talk. She told us about her son, commented on Kate's ,and shared with us a story about Tuyen Quang. She described that Tuyen Quang is noted to have beautiful women and they are the ones that always win the beauty pageants. She said Kate is sure to be a beauty queen. She wanted to make sure that I shared this with Kate. She is indeed our beauty queen!

About Kate:
  • She is really opening up to us as she gains confidence by the day.
  • She loves kisses and cuddles-the more the better!
  • She is ticklish and has the sweetest giggle.
  • She is quite good at getting what she wants--Jack and Kate are going to be quite the pair! :)
