We decided to take the trek with our travel group to Halong Bay. We chose the day trip and this proved to make for a very long day. I was already extremely distracted because I had just learned that Jackson had the flu and he looked awful when we spoke just before boarding the bus. The bus ride alone was almost 8 +++ hours round trip and that did not include the4 hour cruise. Kate slept a grand total of 30 minutes the entire day! With this said we were exhausted at the end of it all, but enjoyed an amazing tour of the bay.

The scenery was breathtaking. We boarded the boat and cruised the bay, taking stops to view caves and a floating 'fish market'. We ate aboard the boat-- fresh catch from the bay---catfish & squid served with spring rolls, sticky rice, and Vietnamese 'french fries' (fried potatoes with lots of garlic). Kate tried it all, her fave the fries of course!

As an added bonus Kate is really showing her personality and is showing us that she has an opinion! She still loves for mommy to hold her but is letting daddy sneak in a few minutes here and there. She can tell he likes to play. She was a trooper enduring the very long day with very little sleep!

Much to our relief when we got back to the apartment we learned that Jack was feeling much better! He shows Kate a new toy from her nursery each time we talk. He is going to be the best big brother!
